How We Work – From Consultation to Installation

From the inital contact, right through to installation day, here’s what you can expect from your bespoke experience

Infographic titled 'How We Work' showing five steps in a process, with icons representing each step: an envelope for initial contact, a ruler and pencil for design and planning, a laptop for design presentation, a calendar with a checkmark for booking the build, and tools for delivery and installation. The steps are numbered 01 to 05, with the company logo 'Christopher Leslie Bespoke' at the bottom.

Our process is simple, tailored, and designed to give you confidence at every step.

01. Initial Contact

Once you’ve filled out our enquiry form, we’ll reach out via email to understand more about your project and what you're hoping to achieve. It’s a chance to see if we’re the right fit — no pressure, just a friendly first conversation before arranging a free, no-obligation design consultation.

02. Design & Planning

We’ll visit your home to take detailed measurements, talk through ideas, and get a feel for your style and lifestyle. From there, we begin shaping a concept tailored to your space—considering layout, finishes, materials, and how everything can work beautifully together.

If you've already selected a finish tier, we’ll explore it with you in more depth and make sure it’s the right fit. Many clients choose to blend elements from two tiers, whether that’s enhanced door profiles, upgraded lighting, or feature finishes. This stage is all about refining the details so that the design reflects both your vision and your priorities. Design development forms part of our bespoke process.

03. Design Presentation

We return to your home with a live CAD presentation of your proposed design. This interactive session lets you explore the layout, try out different finishes, and see material samples in your own surroundings, making it easier to visualise and refine every detail until it feels just right.

Once we’ve explored finishes and layout options together and any adjustments are agreed in principle, you're also welcome to request a photorealistic render of your design. This can be arranged once a deposit is received and is offered as an optional extra, separate from the furniture cost. If you’d like to include it, we’ll discuss pricing and turnaround at your design presentation.

Following your design presentation, we’ll refine the design based on your feedback. Once your deposit is received, we prepare final working drawings with confirmed measurements for your approval ahead of manufacture.

04. Booking Your Build

Every Christopher Leslie Bespoke piece is designed and made specifically for your space. Once your invoice is accepted, your project enters our workflow, where design development, planning and preparation take place.

Manufacture only begins once designs are fully approved and the production stage payment has been received. This ensures every detail is final before materials are ordered and work begins in the workshop.

Installation dates are confirmed once manufacture is complete and furniture is ready, allowing us to deliver the highest standard of craftsmanship without rushing the process.

Once your furniture is complete and ready, we’ll contact you to arrange your installation week, subject to availability and site readiness — keeping everything smooth, clear and well-organised.

Any installation dates discussed prior to manufacture completion are indicative only and provided as a guide for planning purposes. Final installation dates are confirmed in writing once your furniture is fully manufactured and ready for installation.

05. Delivery & Installation

Your bespoke furniture is delivered and installed with care by our experienced installation team. We protect your home, work with respect, and ensure everything is completed to the highest standard — so you can sit back and enjoy the finished result.

Installation dates are confirmed once manufacture is complete and your furniture is ready, allowing us to schedule accurately and avoid last-minute changes where possible.

To help your installation run smoothly, we recommend avoiding flooring, carpet fitting or other sensitive finishes until after your installation is complete wherever possible. If this isn’t feasible, we advise waiting until your installation date has been confirmed in writing.

For more detail on how timelines, site readiness, payments and installation are managed, please see our Bespoke Project Policies.
