Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 15th December 2025
1. By paying your nonrefundable deposit, we will have both entered into a legally binding contract whereby we agree to supply and install the goods listed on your invoice, and you agree to pay the price listed on this invoice in full, subject to the conditions outlined below.
1.1 These Terms and Conditions should be read in conjunction with our Bespoke Project Policies, which form part of the contractual agreement between us and are available on our website.
2. You acknowledge that you have thoroughly reviewed the information on your invoice and that we will only supply the furniture, contractors, and accessories outlined within. Design refinement and final working drawings form part of the bespoke process and are subject to design approval and production payment as per our Terms & Conditions.
3. Drawing alterations and design refinements form part of the bespoke design process. A design will only be deemed fully approved when finalised in writing and the associated production payment has been received. No manufacture, material procurement or installation scheduling will begin prior to design sign-off and production payment. All specifications, finishes, and client-supplied item details must be final at the point of design approval. Any changes requested after approval may require revised drawings, additional costs, and adjusted timescales.
4. All designs and planning are the property of Christopher Leslie Bespoke until you have paid your nonrefundable deposit. If you would like to take the drawing(s) elsewhere, there's a charge of 20% of the total order value to cover the costs of admin, planning and design work already completed.
5. If the customer has supplied the measurements for the project, we recommend a site survey before a deposit is received. Surveys outside of a 15-mile radius may incur travel charges. If you choose not to have a site survey, your furniture will be crafted from your measurements. Any furniture that doesn't fit due to being given incorrect measurements or a lack of information by the customer will result in additional charges. For elements designed to fit specific client-supplied items (e.g. TVs, safes, appliances), precise dimensions must be provided in writing prior to manufacture. If not provided, we may proceed with industry standard sizing, and any adjustments required to fit client-supplied items will be chargeable.
We will not accept responsibility for errors, delays, or additional costs arising from incorrect information or a lack of information provided by the customer.
6. While we do our best to ensure that the product is as consistent as possible, we cannot offer any guarantee on colour match to those shown on the website and CAD drawings. Images on our website, brochure and other promotional material are for illustrative purposes only.
Please carefully read these terms and the ones below before sending your deposit. Contact us if you have any questions.
1. Definitions
"you" means the person confirming the below terms (and if more than one, both or all of you: your obligations being as individuals and together);
"us" and "we" means Christopher Leslie Bespoke Limited;
"the goods" means the items specified in the invoice;
"the site" means the location where the goods are to be fitted (as specified in the invoice);
"the fitter" means us, or the individual we contract to fit the goods.
2. PLEASE READ THIS CONTRACT CAREFULLY. WE WILL RELY ON THE TERMS SET OUT HERE, AND NEITHER WE NOR YOU CAN ALTER THEM WITHOUT THE AGREEMENT OF THE OTHER.
3. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, we agree to deliver and install the goods at the site. If any circumstances beyond our reasonable control delay the supply or fitting of the goods, we will give you as much notice as possible and work with you to arrange an alternative date. Any timescales discussed prior to manufacture are estimates only. Where no fixed date has been agreed, bespoke manufacture will be completed within a reasonable time taking into account specialist processes, material availability, and third-party services. Delays arising from these factors do not constitute unreasonable delay.
4. We cannot be held liable for delays or failure to complete the job caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control; with events like this, we will complete the works as soon as reasonably possible.
5. The following conditions apply if we have agreed with you to arrange for the goods to be delivered and fitted:
i) you agree:
a) to ensure that the fitter has access to the site at reasonable times (between 8 am and 6 pm on weekdays) or otherwise as agreed by you and us;
b) where furniture is designed to accommodate specific client-supplied items (including but not limited to televisions, appliances, hoovers, safes or audio equipment), it is the client’s responsibility to provide accurate dimensions and specifications in writing prior to manufacture. Where dimensions are not provided, Christopher Leslie Bespoke may proceed using industry-standard sizes. Any alteration, modification or remanufacture required as a result will be chargeable.
c) Christopher Leslie Bespoke does not undertake electrical or plumbing works. The client is responsible for ensuring that all required electrical and plumbing feeds, connections, and preparatory works are completed by appropriately qualified trades prior to installation, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Where final connections (such as sinks, taps or appliances) cannot be completed until cabinetry is installed, these can carried out alongside or following installation by the client’s appointed trades. If required electrical or plumbing works are incomplete, unsafe or unsuitable upon arrival, Christopher Leslie Bespoke reserves the right to leave site and reschedule installation.
d) the client must ensure the site is fully ready for installation on the agreed date. This includes, but is not limited to, walls plastered and sufficiently dry, floors in place (concrete or subfloor minimum), clear access to the installation area, adequate working space, and a functioning toilet facility. If the site is not ready, Christopher Leslie Bespoke reserves the right to leave site and reschedule.
e) where installation cannot proceed due to site readiness issues, incomplete required works, or other factors outside our control, the client shall be liable for costs incurred, including fitter day rates, vehicle or van hire, and reasonable administrative costs. Christopher Leslie Bespoke reserves the right to charge for the estimated installation days lost where fitters are unable to take alternative work at short notice.
f) that you aren't going to make any significant changes to the rooms that we will be fitting in, and in particular, that you haven't added, moved, or taken out any fixed items that you didn't disclose to us before we agreed to the contract;
g) to empty the area as much as possible to allow enough space for the fitter to work, to allow for fair access to the room (ladder access is not acceptable), and to cooperate in bringing health and safety concerns down to a manageable level.
h) if you wish to postpone your fitting date, you may be charged a £150 storage fee.
i) Unless explicitly agreed, deliveries will be performed by a single driver. On most occasions, the driver can make the entire delivery alone, but if there are very large or heavy items, you may have to assist the driver.
ii) If you cannot assist, we need to know as soon as possible. We can arrange a labourer to help them with the delivery if necessary. We reserve the right to make an additional charge to cover this cost.
iii) You agree that you have alerted us of any specific characteristics of the site or its construction that could make the installation more challenging than we might reasonably anticipate. If, upon arrival at the site, we identify structural issues (such as cracks in the mortar or walls) that we believe may compromise the safe installation of our furniture, we reserve the right to pause work until a qualified professional has assessed and confirmed the site is safe for installation. Any delays caused by this will not be our responsibility, and any costs incurred for additional visits or rescheduling will be chargeable to the customer.
iv) In order to prevent minor accidental damage caused during installation, you are advised against decorating rooms before installation.
v) Furniture is manufactured and installed to be as level and square as reasonably achievable within site conditions and normal industry tolerances. As many properties have floors, walls or ceilings that are not perfectly level, furniture may appear visually misaligned despite being correctly installed. This does not constitute a defect in workmanship.
j) Installation timeframes provided are estimates only. Installation duration may be affected by site conditions, access restrictions, or unforeseen factors. Christopher Leslie Bespoke will not rush installation at the expense of quality. Where installation exceeds the estimated duration, a return visit will be arranged as soon as reasonably possible to complete the works.
k) Any assistance provided by our fitters outside the agreed scope of works is offered at their discretion and does not form part of the contracted installation service. Our fitters may decline additional requests where these would cause delay, require additional tools, materials or fixings, or fall outside the agreed works. Christopher Leslie Bespoke accepts no responsibility for delays arising from discretionary assistance requested by the client.
6. Design development forms part of the bespoke process. A design is deemed approved for manufacture once final design information has been confirmed in writing (email is sufficient) and the production payment has been received. Manufacture, material procurement and installation scheduling will not commence prior to both design approval and receipt of the production payment. Installation dates are only confirmed once manufacture is complete and furniture is ready. Dates are not reserved or guaranteed in advance of this stage.
7. We will not accept any responsibility for the actions of the fitters outside of those concerned with the installation of your furniture, including but not limited to any damage to the site, any additional work you may have agreed with the fitter outside of your Christopher Leslie Bespoke furniture. Our subcontractor fitters carry their own public liability insurance and can be contacted directly regarding such issues.
8. Any timescales discussed prior to manufacture are estimates only and represent working targets, not guaranteed dates. Where no fixed delivery or installation date has been agreed in writing following design sign-off, works will be completed within a reasonable time. For bespoke furniture, a reasonable time takes into account specialist manufacture, finishing and curing processes, material availability, quality control, third-party suppliers and seasonal shutdowns. Delays arising from these factors do not constitute unreasonable delay. For clarity, our goods are made to order for your specific space and are not held in stock, therefore “reasonable time” reflects the bespoke nature of manufacture and installation.
9. If you are installing the units yourself, we strongly recommend you secure them to the wall in case of tipping. It's the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the goods are secure. It's the customer’s responsibility to ensure that your walls are stable enough to hold the goods. We will not accept any responsibility if the goods aren't secured as intended due to a lack of structural integrity.
10. You are responsible for the goods as soon as they arrive at the site, and we advise you to check your household insurance to ensure that you are covered. We will not be liable for defects due to inappropriate storage, neglect, or damage caused by the customer, third party or incorrect installation if it's not us installing your furniture.
11. Unless otherwise stated, VAT is additional to all our fees and charges at the applicable rate.
12. We may make improvements to the specifications of the goods (or minor cosmetic changes) or their installation before the completion of the project. We will not make any significant changes without your consent.
13. If we agree to changes to your order after the deposit has been received, they may incur an administration fee of £150 in addition to the cost of the affected goods and may cause the intended fit date to be pushed back.
14. It's important to remember that even though all of our wood products are of satisfactory quality, wood is a natural product and can vary in grain or colour.
i) Due to the fact that we utilise several types of boards and finishes for the facias and carcasses, there may occasionally be a minor colour variation. Depending on the customers' lighting setup or the amount of natural light in the space, this may be more noticeable.
ii) For installation and safety reasons, there may be a join in any material longer than 2000mm.
15. This contract is exempt from the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013's right to cancel provisions because it relates to the delivery of products tailored to your specifications. Your goods are custom-made and cannot be sold to another customer because there is no market for them; as a result, your deposit is non-refundable.
16. If you declare bankruptcy or become insolvent in any other way, this contract will terminate. In that instance, we will only carry out work we have started and which we have received the funds for.
17. If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, please email us at letstalk@christopherlesliebespoke.com. If you are still not satisfied with our resolution, you may be able to take your complaint to the Furniture and Home Improvement Ombudsman https://www.fhio.org/.
As a consumer, you are protected by the law from defective or misdescribed goods and inadequate services, including installation.
THOSE RIGHTS ARE NOT AFFECTED BY THESE TERMS.
18. This agreement is made under English law.
19. Payment Guidelines: BACS is the preferred method of payment. The footer of your invoice contains our banking information.
50% of the total price deposit with the order.
25% of the total price the working day before production commences.
25% of the total price on the day of completion.
*On larger projects, we reserve the right to request the cost of the furniture in full.
Final payment becomes due once installation is complete and the works are substantially finished. Any agreed snagging, minor remedial items or settling adjustments do not suspend or invalidate the payment obligation.
19.1 The existence of agreed snagging items, minor remedial works or return visits does not entitle the client to withhold or delay payment beyond the agreed payment stage.
